On may 26th, an SHSID debate team won for the second year running the inter-city debate contest. Unlike the year before, their path to the finals was rather more difficult. After losing a round to a rather contentious decision the team still garnered enough points to move past the other remaining Shanghai team. Their issue for the finals, that performance enhancing drugs should be legalized in sports was an admittedly difficult one. Such did not affect the team too much however, and after a fiery half an hour debate, they emerged deserved victors. While the team's two older members will be graduating at the end of next year, the precedent they've set will no doubt spur on their younger counterparts to many more years at the top of this national level tournament.
