Principle Tang was Invited to High level Forum on Education Hosted by Harvard University

August 17th- 19th, at the invitation of Harvard University, Principle Tang attended theEducational High Level Forumheld in Harvard University. Furthermore, he was the first expert to make a keynote speech in the topic discussion on unified standard and unified examination in the afternoon of 18thAugust. This forum was meant to promote the process of America’s education reform by drawing on the experiences of other countries.

Principle Tang started from the comparison of Pisa results between Shanghai, China and America, analyzed the deep relationship between the education and culture situation of our country and the improvement of students’ literacy, revealed the strong learning motivation of Chinese students under the guidance of Chinese policy, introduced effective implementation of unified standard in China, and then offered some references and suggestions for America’s education reform, which is highly accepted by the participants. In the discussion after keynote speech, there were more than half of time is spent on the topic raised by Principle Tang.

The forum was hosted by Harvard University where vice president of U.S. Department of Education and education consultant of the White House showed up and gave a lecture as the distinguished guests. And it was attended by a cluster of experts with the total number of more than 100. Except America and Canada, there were only one distinguished guest on behalf of every country of China, Finland, Korea and India invited. Principle Tang was the only representative of China.

After the forum, the Florida State Representative Kim Kendall wrote to Principle Tang with gratitude and respect. It’s said like this:You are such a great representative for China’s education system! We learned a great deal from you! We can improve our education system in America to start catching up to China…!
