2011 is the 40^thAnniversary of the Sino-US Ping-Pong Diplomacy. A grand celebration for this event was held at Shanghai High School. All the guests were warmly greeted with music during the welcome ceremony.

The event was honored by many important leaders and world champions from both sides. Among them are: ITTF Life Honorary President, Xu Yinsheng, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Table Tennis Association, Vice President of Shanghai Sports Federation and President of Shanghai Table Tennis Association, Chen Yiping, Principal Tang, Table Tennis World Champion, Wang Liqin and other leaders and athletes.

The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Chen Yiping. Amid warm applause, Principal Tang addressed the celebration with a welcome speech and both sides exchanged souvenirs afterwards. The music of a typical Chinese song,Jasmine, performed by SHS music teachers thawed the coldness of winter, and the American folk song,Tonight, entertained the guests with the picturesque Western American scenery. After taking some photos, the Chinese and American players displayed their fantastic skills in a table-tennis show. Their marvelous performance drew forth enthusiastic applause from the audience.

The event concluded in a relaxing and harmonious atmosphere.
