Since 2019, the Shanghai High School Smart Campus Construction Project consists of two phases: Phase I (mainly focusing on the overall infrastructure, Primary School and Middle School of International Division) and Phase II (mainly focusing on Local Division and High School of International Division).

The project focuses on the new demand for a ubiquitous learning ecosystem in which “everyone is learning, everywhere is a learning place, and every minute is used for learning”. It features the deep integration of information technology, education and teaching practice to comprehensively build an ecological campus environment of intelligence and unique characteristics. The overall construction goals include “One Platform, One Centre and Four Service Systems”.

“One Platform”: SHS will use the Internet and campus network as the network foundation for information collection, circulation and exchange, and cloud computing as the core technology for data storage, mining and analysis, to create an open and smart campus platform for information pooling, resource sharing, application integration safely and efficiently.

“One Centre”: SHS constructs a big data centre for Shanghai High School campus and builds a campus intelligent brain. With big data technology, unified school data standards, intelligent data collection, instant data exchange and comprehensive data themes can be achieved through the data centre, based on the theory of dimensional modelling, business fact table designing and business dimension table designing for each business theme. Then it continues to build the data warehouse and data bazaar in the data centre, offering data mining, self-service reports, visual components, decision support, assessment and evaluation, accurate recommendation and other multi-level and multi-dimensional data services to the high-level personnel.

“Four Service Systems”: SHS uses modern high-tech information technology, practical communication systems, and innovative integration concepts to establish an efficient, intelligent, and joyful smart campus application system. It includes an efficient campus management system, a safe campus environment system, a leading teaching process system and a convenient campus life system.

The full implementation of the smart campus construction will realize the digitalization, informatization, webification and intelligentization of teaching, scientific research, school management and service on campus. It will deepen the educational reform, improve the quality, efficiency and scientific research level of SHS. It will also achieve the goal of reasonable planning, distribution and use of information resources and information services. It will improve the quality of management, efficiency and effectiveness of SHS and ensures the reliability, safety and security of school resources and services, as well as having a far-reaching impact on various school affairs and the work, study and life of teachers and students.
