Deepening Curricular Reforms A Key Step to Implement International Curriculum in Chinese High School

On April 19, 2013, co-sponsored by the Shanghai Municipal Education Committee and SIICR, a high-level seminar named "Challenges and Solutions in the Implementation of International Curricula in High Schools" was held in Shanghai High School’s Music Centre. The meeting attracted more than 30 high-school principals who are well known and successful in the field of international curricula implementation, and experts from more than 10 famous research institutions to conduct discussions upon various topics about international curriculum.

Through lively brainstorming and discussions among experts and principals, the seminar aimed to seek out solutions and breakthroughs in the implementation of international curriculum. At the seminar, Mr. Yin Houqing, the State School Inspector and the Vice Director of the China Education Association, gave important counsel on the implementation of international curriculum in Chinese high schools. He also pointed that the purpose of such implementation is to absorb the positive practices and experience from international curricula, and promote the curricular reform of Shanghai.
