As quoted from a poem: "Longmen starts with power and passion, rushing into the sea as a mainstayirresistibly.”In 1865, the Longmen academy was born. It was the earliest official institution of higher learning. Over the course of 150 years of extraordinary and brilliant history from 1865 to 2015,Shanghai High School has unremittingly taken the lead by blazing the trail against all odds.

In 150 years, spanning three centuries, Shanghai High School has adhered to the mission of "store personnel, prepare for national use,” and has spared no efforts to cultivate elites and talents. Thus, the school is renowned at home and abroad.

In 150 years, Shanghai High School, with its national development and a common destiny, has become a microcosm of the development of modern Chinese education.
