Stallions embark on new journey

2018-11-26

Last Sunday the SHSID Stallions took their basketball game to the next level. The all-new Jr NBA High School Basketball league tipped off with SHSID facing Huamo High School, a game in which saw the Stallions come out on top 93:45.

The 6-team league is one of a kind as it features both international schools such as SHSID and KCIS , and local Chinese schools such as Human, Jiaozhong and No. 54 High School.

The Stallions got off to a rocky start in the game on Sunday, with starting guards Giovanni Carrubba and Alex Chang getting themselves into foul trouble early. The Stallions struggled containing the Huamo big men early, allowing multiple offensive boards and giving up “and-1” plays. The game would be tied at 17 before the Stallions started to bring the heat with their full-court pressure defense– a strategy that would lead to 16 steals for the team, and a Round 1 win.
