From August 16 to August 20, 2024, the 33rd China National Biology Olympiad, organized by the National Biology Olympiad Committee, was held in Guangzhou. A total of 577 participants from 30 provincial (municipal and regional) teams across the country gathered in the city to compete against each other.
Four students from Shanghai High School were selected into the provincial team and represented Shanghai in the national finals. After two days of intense theoretical and experimental exams, Jin Ziyue, a student of grade 11, won a gold medal, while Li Zherui and Jiang Yuxuan of grade 12 each won a silver medal, and Jiang Yunhong of grade 10 earned a bronze medal.
