Recently, the science and technology program 'City of the Future' of the SMG News Center launched a new three-episode program, providing an in-depth report on a science project encouraging public participation that was initiated by the Center for Excellence in Brain Science and Intelligence Technology (CEBSIT) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). Students from Shanghai High School participated as volunteers and engaged in the project under the guidance of professional scientists by conducting tests through web-based tests.

Most of the students who participated in the project had taken an optional course on Brain Science and Artificial Intelligence at Shanghai High School. In 2018, Shanghai High School collaborated with the Institute of Neuroscience of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Huashan Hospital affiliated with Fudan University to establish the Center for Neuroscience and Artificial Intelligence. The center offers a special course on “Brain Science and Artificial Intelligence” and a developmental course on “Brain Science and Intelligent Technology”. The center consists of three important laboratories: the Cerebral Cognitive Neurofeedback Laboratory, the Brain-inspired Intelligence Laboratory, and the Neuroscience and Genetic Engineering Laboratory. Under the guidance of experts, students who selected these courses have completed multiple research projects and won numerous awards at the Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation Competition and the Future Technology Star Awards.
