From June 9 to 14, 2024, the first International Avicenna Olympiad in Biology was held in Bukhara, Uzbekistan. Our school’s biology coach, Wang Yiming, led a team of four students from Shanghai to participate in the competition.

At the competition, a total of 10 gold medals, 20 silver medals, and 30 bronze medals were awarded. After one round of theoretical evaluation and another round of practical evaluation, the Shanghai team won one gold medal and three silver medals, four medals in total. Among them, the gold medal winner was Wu Shenghao, a student from Class 11, Grade 11 at Shanghai High School (also the one and only gold medal won by the Chinese team).
